Most people should have a routine eye examination every one to two years, but some symptoms mean you should see an eye doctor sooner. Sudden vision loss, a sudden increase in floaters or flashes of light, a shadow or curtain across your vision, or eye pain with redness all need urgent same-day assessment.

Gradual changes such as difficulty reading small print, glare at night, or trouble adjusting between light and dark are worth booking a routine appointment for, even if they don’t feel urgent.

If you’re ever unsure whether your symptoms warrant a same-day visit or a routine appointment, contact the clinic and describe what you’re experiencing — the team can advise on the right next step.
