Good eye health starts with simple daily habits. Eat a diet rich in leafy greens, oily fish, and colourful fruit and vegetables to support long-term retinal health. Wear UV-protective sunglasses whenever you’re outdoors, and take regular screen breaks using the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.

Don’t smoke, as smoking significantly increases your risk of cataracts and age-related macular degeneration. Keep any underlying health conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure well controlled, as both can affect the eyes.

Finally, have regular eye examinations, even if your vision seems fine — many serious eye conditions have no symptoms in their early stages.
